I haven't noticed anything lately about the thousands of units that HGVC was supposed to be building at Lake Las Vegas...
You'd think that with the downturn in the economy that any timeshare company would have a tremendous problem getting suckers in the door to try and sell a timeshare to somene who's having trouble affording groceries and gasoline...
How can they pitch a week of vacations for $40,000 to someone with a straight face? Won't be too long before when mentioning the price that they'll get the answer, "that's almost as much as what my house is worth now! That's the price for a week?" Our previous house in San Diego was worth $500,000+ in early 2006; down to $450,000 when we sold it in late 2006; these days, the current owners would probably have to list it for $300,000 or less to sell it (house across the street that's 1300 sq ft vs 1600 sq ft is listed for $274,000 - house down the street--same exact model but with a pool-- is listed for $310,000--they wanted $525,000 for it in 2006 when we sold ours for $450,000)...
I just can't imagine someone signing a developer contract these days...
Maybe it'll be a good time for resales now..
Have there been any drastic reductions in the developer prices now being asked in Vegas?
