I am trying to make 1bedroom reservation at Bay Club using HGVC points. What’s CD5-CD8 and CP5-CP8? The descriptions for the room are the same.

Did you check our Sticky?

*Related ask:
I thought the various A type 2 BR units should be the same (Pts) for same dates but interestingly different HGV pts, ? Glitch or real?? (Don't remember seeing this when I booked my current units months ago: they were all the same HGV pts incl PH units then)..
Mahalo!

*Per sticky:
'There is a room code ending in each of the above number for EACH ROOM TYPE. So how does this impact you. It doesn't really, just find the room size you want and find which of the series of codes has the best matching inventory level for your needs'.
'3) So although there are Penthouse units, these units are NO more points than a standard unit. The only PLUS units are this resort are the Villa Units.'

Glitch or real??
I think real. Your dates are crossing seasons. Bay Club units have HW chech-in days as Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. So that will mean that the points required will be different slightly until all of the units are in the same season.

Yes, this is exactly what's happening here. So just book the floorplan you want by choosing the one with the lowest point value.

And yes the "P" units are the top floor units in each building but cost no more points that the other units of the same size.

Because the 1-bedroom units face the parking lot, I would generally go for the "P" units for those. A lot of us like the ground floor lanais on the 2-bedroom units (the A floorplan in particular) as they walk out onto the grass/grounds in the rear of each building (facing golf course / volcano / sunset), so "P" isn't as valuable here. That being said, some of the top-floor 2-bedroom units have a distant view of the ocean.

I love The Bay Club :]

*Per David, their FO Manager, they are planning to have 3 more pickleball courts at Bay Club, ? next year (by converting one of the tennis courts or Basketball courts), don't remember which one.
They DO have a tennis clinic & a pickleball clinic class every week.
+ Putting green..
+ Ukulele class (also at KL, but that is in their Keiki/kids club).
You can even borrow the Uke from them, which we did & enjoyed learning & playing the Ukulele (adds to the island experience with its sweet, relaxing sound & ease to learn/play)...
Loved our stay :)!

Also, Kohala might the sweet spot for us. Free parking at the ocean.

Still haven't made to KL, but I hear it is worth the walk.... Sorry went to an Update there, still don't know what they were talking about... Also walked by in the rain from the Fishponds. Really love that place... A bite to eat up there is also quite nice.

If you can hike... Cook's Monument Hike. If you don't/can't hike... take the boat.... Wow. On the Bucket List.

Manta Rays...... Really Bucket List.

I'm a bit jealous of the southern timeshares on the BI.... Less driving. Not sure I need another TS but so tempting....

PS- Enjoy every moment.

I own a Hilton and Wyndham. Last trip in 2018 when the volcano was erupting, we spend 5 days in Kona at Wyndham, running around and doing all our sightseeing, then we head up to Waikoloa to hang out and chill for another week.

That was our perfect trip to the Big Island, one week in Kona, or one week in the Waikoloa Resort area. We would also stay a night or two in Volcano Village somewhere during the trip.
