What about for the cash rates? Someone suggested it was possible but I don't know how.

Not sure... An owner could look something up for you, but...
Non-owners cannot stay for cash, nor even get a Guest Cert.
"Open Season rental reservations are available to Members
for their personal use only." ... So, would that help you? ...
.

I'm just doing my homework before buying.

That's a bad idea. The timeshare salesweasels don't like when people do their homework about timeshare purchase. Those people become (and apologies for cursing on a public board) "informed."

Cheers.

I saw that advice and the only way I could think of is for a non-owner to search on the hilton dot com web site, you can book the timeshares through the hotel site.

Yes but that inventory on the hilton.com website is NOT reflective of what is available to HGVC Members. The inventory sold through Hilton.com is either developer owned, or points that HGVC owners used to book something outside of Hilton and those points are removed from HGVC inventory and sold via Hilton.com

You can only have access to the availability if you are an owner. Most owners are NOT going to have over their credentials so that you can log into their account. At best ask for a few examples and see if an owners is willing to show you a snap shot of what inventory is available.

Ok, thanks, it wasn't my imagination.

How about NYC in June or July; and Big Island third week of October. Need accommodations for 4-5.

Thanks!

All we can see ourselves is check-ins from now until May 5th.
Availability those months could be similar, but it's been said:
"Past performance is no guarantee of future results."

NYC - You have to own there to see+book OS... I do not.
Big Island - a quick & unfocused copy...

Clear as mud?
.

NYC will have lots of availability now for June\July. But unless you own, now, it's pretty pointless to consider. 4-5 people is multiple rooms as well. Open season is $404 a night for studio plus, but open season for June is not open yet. Unless you do this every year a timeshare is not the way to go.

Since you asked specifically about cash rates, open season (cash rates) is only available within 30 days of check in. Owners can only see availability in that window.

HGVC Club does not have open season for NYC. Only bHC owners in NYC can use open-season cash rates.

@tombanjo is correct that looking now at NYC availability for June/July is irrelevant because owners may not have booked yet creating an illusion of more availability prior to the 60 day club window. What is relevant is how reservations look to HGVC club 60 days out when the club window opens.

HCNY is the only NYC property that has 2 bedroom units; W57 and Residences 1 bdrms only accomodate 4 people (king, queen fold-out couch - no rollaways). Club members have no access to Hilton Club NY property as that property has special rules and is only available to HCNY members. So you would need to rent from an owner or book multiple rooms in W57 or Residences during club season which can be dicey to coordinate. The new Quin property across the street from W57 will have 2 bdrm units but that is not expected to open until 2020 and we don't know about club access rules to that bHC property.

I would not advise purchasing a TS including HGVC based upon OS/cash rates. In general, they are not that favorable. That option can (as did happen in ~2014) change.

I agree completely. And contrary to what some sales reps might imply the owners discount is only for HGV resorts, you do not receive any special discount at the hotels. I think Open Season is a nice perk, but not enough of a discount to purchase on its own.

i’m interested in availability with points in club season, not just open season. i appreciate all the info about nyc. so how about nyc june 1-4 since that is within 60 days, for a 1 bedroom, and 2 br availability in October on the Big Island?

In NYC, W57 does not have low point one bedrooms and studio premiers (the most desirable units) for those dates. It does have studio plus and high point 1 bedrooms available. Looking beyond the 60 day window the month of June and July is already cut up with mixed availability.

Residences is wide open however, Residences have not fully sold out so this may not be a good indication of future availability.
