I'm interested in the HGVC points, 7000 at a Vegas resort. Currently looking at buying through Seth or Judi. However, since I am not a member I am unable to view availability for HGVC or RCI properties. Would be interested in knowing how hard it is to book into Cabo in February, Breckenridge in March, or pull a last minute Belize vacation over Christmas. Just need some general availability information to decide if I will be able to take the trips I want when I want. I can view all the resorts just not sure about availability to members. Help?!

HGVC and RCI availability question

If you are a tug member you can utilize the search feature on the sightings board and see when units have been spotted, and if there are any deposit trends.
Regarding the destinations and timeframes you referenced, it is not practical to depend on RCI for an exchange. You would need to make an internal exchange, and preferably at the beginning of the reservation window. I dont own with HGVC so I cant tell you specificaly about availability, but I would expect you to be able to make those exchanges internally with the exception of xmas in belize.

It is difficult to get a prime holiday week or ski week with an exchange. Those weeks have the most demand and the least supply. Owners usually use those weeks themselves, or rent them for $$$.
However, Mexico is an easy exchange most of the time.

Within HGVC Internal system, the Ski week would be a non issue if you book when the rez window opens.
The Cabo week will be a non issue if you book in RCI inventory. Valdoro does show up on RCI for ski weeks but naturally they get picked up fast.
