Help with IRS "request for information"

Why couldn't they just say so in the first place?

My DW has a boss who will task her with a project but withhold some vital piece of information and expect her to accomplish the task anyway. When she goes to ask for the missing data, he'll say: "Aren't you smart enuff to come up with that on your own?"
 
If you used TurboTax and had a refund due, didn't you file electronically? That should have eliminated any signature problems and missing schedules?!:confused:
 
If you're already using Turbo Tax, this might be good reason to start using e-file with it. We have a handful of clients at work who prefer to send paper returns, and we will do so for them, but it takes longer to process the returns, and errors like this do occur (we try to minimize that by having the clients sign when we do, before they leave the office). Most of the clients that refuse e-file are concerned about security, but in reality, their paper return could be intercepted as well, and that's not encrypted.
