I placed a couple free ad's a while back. I received a response today, but it looks like it was sent back in August. I went to the site and can't find the email or my ad's? Good thing I printed the response.

What's up?

Andy.

Did you go to the Classifieds Ads Page, log-in, and click on "Ads you placed"?

The email notification you get contains a link back to the Timeshare Marketplace where you need to log in if you havent already.

http://tug2.com/timesharemarketplace

You will see a link at the top of the page titled "ads youve placed" clicking this will display every ad you have posted on the site.

Within each ad is a column titled "messages" that will have a number in it indicating the number of messages you have for that ad.

simply click the number (which is a link) to view your messages.

all regular classified ads run for 3 months.

Even if they are expired they would still show up in the ads youve placed screen.

When I follow the link in the email it brings me http://www.tug2.com/TUGMembers/Login.aspx[/ This morning there was a flashing link saying I had a new message. Now I can't find anything about an email or any ad I had ever placed.

I found my ads and everything is still there. The email was sent on 11/8 not 8/11.

I guess my confusion was that I couldn't find any refrence to the email or my ads on the page after I clicked through the second time.

Andy,

Your ads were posted in july, not august...and dont expire till January (those early ads were given 6mo expiration dates) the ads are...and have always been public on the site.

When I log in under your name...and click the "ads youve placed" link as directed above... I see both of your ads.

The second one shows the message notification, when clicking on the number "1" in the message column, I see a message from a member.

This message was sent to you on 11/8/08...and would explain why you only recently recieved it. (as it was just sent to you a few days ago)

The message you clicked on notifying you that "you have a new message on tug" is only there until you click on it...after that the system assumes that by clicking on "you have a new message" that you actually went to read the message...and hence will not display again until you recieve another message.

However, the instructions given to you above would always let you return to your ads and view any old messages sent to you in the system unless you chose to delete them. (although not the case here)

So I am a bit confused as to your comments....perhaps there is some miscommunication via the forum posts? Wouldnt be the first time =)

Hope that this latest post clears things up for you
