Help! Rescission For HGV in Las Vegas

Thank you! This is super helpful. Do you think it will be enough to include 1) the official Nevada cancellation form that was provided in my document signed by myself and my wife and 2) a letter written stating intent and signed by myself and my wife (I followed a template I found on a thread here)?

I’m oscillating between including a part of the contract in the envelope but I don’t know what individual part of the contract would suffice. I would assume a part with our signatures. The contract is long.
If part of the contract has the contract number or something like it, then include a copy of that page. You should also reference that number in your letter. Though I understand NV has that form which should be sufficient on its own.

Last question (hopefully): On the cancellation of time share form I was provided with the contract it listed a specific address that I need to send to. At the end of the contract when it discusses rescission, it lists the same address as well:
Attn: Rescissions Title Services
1450 Center Crossing Road
Las Vegas, Nevada 89144

We bought in Nevada, but in one of the first paragraphs of the contract it states that US Collection’s principal address is:
6355 Metrowest Blvd
Orlando, FL 32835
United States

I don’t believe I need to send to this address, correct? I don’t know who to address the shipping to (attention) if I sent it to the Orlando address. In the cancellation of time-share form it states to send it to the Nevada address.

I’m just trying to operate out of an extreme abundance of caution! Do you think it would be worth sending a letter to the Orlando address as well and putting “Attn: Rescissions Title Services”?

Thank you!

Also, when it states: “The notice of cancellation may be delivered personally to the developer, sent by certified mail, return receipt requested, or sent by express, priority or recognized overnight delivery service, with proof of service, to the business address of the developer.” What does proof of service mean in this context?

Send it to the address where it is referencing rescission. Thus the first address in your post.

I recommend sending your rescission letter via two forms of delivery. You don't want to chance twenty thousand bucks to the USPS. You need to ensure proof of mailing. Many people recommend USPS Certified Mail. This provides proof of mailing as well as tracking with proof of delivery. It should be noted that USPS Certified Mail is slow and it can be stressful waiting for it to be delivered. We've seen several posts here over the past year where people were saying their rescission letter was taking a long time to get delivered. While rescission is based of post mark date, waiting can be nerve wracking.

The best thing to do is send one letter as USPS Certified Mail then a second as USPS First Class Mail (stamp) with Certificate of Mailing. The USPS First Class Mail with Certificate of mailing only costs about $3 and is usually much faster than Certified Mail. Just be sure you are using a stamp on the envelope. When you do the USPS will provide you with form 3817 which they stamp with a postmark as your official proof that you mailed an item on that date.
I went ahead and followed your instructions! Just sent out my letters- now it’s a waiting game.

We usually tell folks to allow up to 45 days for the refund to land on the credit card. It might be less, but they are not required to tell you of the progress or completion of a rescission. We know it's stressful, but know that they are obligated to process the timely rescission.

Hello TUG community! Glad I found this site since I signed a $22,000, 6000 pt contract in NYC last Thursday and had a night or two of restlessness. Tried to send a rescission via email but the one listed didn't work and I tried several variations until nycrm@hgvc.com finally didn't bounce back. I also sent a physical letter yesterday via Priority Mail (from CA to NY). After reading this thread, thinking I should send another letter via 1st class and certified, just to cover all the bases.

Never heard back from the initial recission email and I also replied to the welcome email from sales exec, sales manager, finance guy - but no response from them either.

Definitely looking forward to learning more from this community!

congrats on rescinding in time and saving 22k!

love 2 for 1 threads!
