Bluegreen Harbour Lights
Hey All,
I just registered on Tug BBS a couple days ago. I am looking to sell my wife's Bluegreen Harbour Lights Timeshare that has 12,000 points annually. To my surprise, my "for sale" job ad posting just got some interest! I am not prepared for this and don't know how to proceed. Can anyone give a step by step process on how to proceed and also recommend any sort of title transfer or closing organization that can take care of this via the internet or fax?

Also, to throw a wrench in the bargain. The title is currently in my wife and her ex's name. In the divorce agreement, he waived all right to the timeshare so I imagine we would have to find that divorce agreement, right?

Thanks for any and all help!

I believe that you have to use BlueGreen's affiliated title company, so I would call them first.

But I'm sure that you will have to get the Ex off the deed before you can do anything, and hopefully BlueGreen can advise you on that procedure as well.

What DeniseM. said.
While a divorce agreement or decree may award it to one of the
parties, typically, that doc does not itself operate to transfer title.
Rather, the party losing title is directed to sign a quitclaim deed.
But much depends on how the doc is written (and who wrote it).

I hope your buyer is a patient person.

Will the ex just sign the new contract?

I read your post and I just wanted to give you a warning, as this interested party may be an undercover scam where people will pretend to be interested in purchasing the property, however in order for this interest to amount to anything, you sometimes will be told that you have to pay either the closing costs, an escrow fee, or some sort of money upfront before any offer can be released to you. I hope that this is not the case, but I just wanted to warn you to have your guard up during your interactions with them. Remember, there are people that have been trying to sell their timeshares for a penny for the last ten years that haven't had so much as one offer. Good luck with your sale!
