I will be visiting a nursing home in Philadelphia but it is Erdenheim town (sp?).
I am looking for a hotel that will be not too far from the nursing home and close enough that I can drive to Atlantic City while I am there. Any help will truly be appreciated.

Erdenheim is close to Philadelphia city limits. Closest Hotels would probably be in Chestnut Hill (Chestnut Hill Hotel) or Fort Washington. Center City would be about a 30 minute commute to Erdenheim.
Atlantic City is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours away.

Agreed that Chestnut Hill would be the absolute closest. But there aren't a lot of options. Fort Washington has a couple of places, Hilton Garden, Holiday Inn and a Best Western. Of the three I would probably go with the Hilton Garden.

Personally I would choose Plymouth Meeting which is a short drive from Erdenheim and has a lot more choices. Marriotts, Hyatts, Hilton properties. If you are flying in, its also a more direct route from the airport since most of the places are just off I-476 and you don't have to mess with Turnpike tolls.

Heading to AC is a bit of a pain from Montgomery County on the freeway since it usually involves a trip on I-76 through the City. But it can certainly be done.
