I deleted all the pic's on my digital camera by accident. Had a lot of nice pic's from my kids in NYC. I hit the wrong button.

How do I undo it? DD said - quick take another pic, then hit undo button. I did = and it didnt' work.

Advise?

Remove the card from the camera immediately and don't do any more changes to the card.

Obtain file recovery software for your computer (or find a friend who has file recovery software on their computer), put the card in a card reader and plug the card reader into the computer. The computer should now show the card as a new drive.

Run the file recovery software on the card, storing the recovered files anywhere but back to the card.

You will probably be able to recover most of the pictures; however the advice to take another picture will likely have caused you to lose some of the old photos where the memory that had those photos was overwritten by the new photo.

Or take the card to a shop that does file recovery and pay them to recover what they can from the card.

i just downloaded that program. It isn't recovering the photos. Probably because as mention it was overwritten by the other pic.

Urgh.

I know I shouldn't have taken that pic - but dd was sure I could use the undo delete.

My son did this in Hawaii. He was SO sick. I wish I'd known then about the recovery software. Maybe we could have saved some of them.

Other family members had a lot of similar pictures, but he had some wonderful shots of the Great Salt Lake from the airplane that none of the rest of us took.

This is the software I have used to save/recover my deleted pics on my Canon SD600 card. I was sick when I thought I had lost over 200 pics from Alaska. Not only did it recover those, but also another 100 or so from the prior six months. Was a bit of a PITA, but it was better to have more than less.

Good luck with it.
