I have Club Regency on hold right now for Easter week 2009. Im seeing varying reports about this resort. Any help would be appreciated. It is listed as Gold in RCI and Silver in II. But from what I found, its very dated and old.

If anyone has been there lately, please help!

Thanks!

Its still on hold. Im thinking of just confirming, and hoping for the best.

I just returned from there last week in a one BR. I have submitted a pretty extensive review on the tug site. I notice you're a guest, so you can't get into the reviews. It is definately worth the membership fee, maybe you should reconsider.

Out of all the resorts in that area, there are only around five or six that I would actually stay at. The Daytona Regency is one of them, based on my stay. As a disclaimer, I do belong to the Diamond Point system, which owns this resort. This was my first stay there, I was pleased. The unit, resort and grounds were clean well maintained. I can't very well rewrite my review, but let me know what specific questions you have, I'll do my best to answer.

Sorry, it just dawned on me - I messed up. My mind was on Daytona Beach when I was reading your thread. Forget everything I said, obviously we are not speaking of the same resort. :ignore: Definately a senior moment!

I've been to Club Regency twice in the last two years. The first time I felt it was a decent resort with a perfect location. All units are oceanfront. This summer I felt a little differently. The building had become a bit nasty, reflecting some of the other older places in Myrtle Beach (moldy smell in the elevator, filthy hallways, units in disrepair, etc.). I also saw two cockroaches during my stay (the smaller variety) in the kitchen. The beach has also become much more crowded than it was (I'm assuming because of the new hotel next door). As a result, I left a couple of days early.

I was happy to return there this summer but now wouldn't stay there again. Sorry!

Thanks everyone. We would be going there over Easter break, if that would make a difference? Maybe it wouldnt be as crowded?
