Heads Up: Week converted to RCI Points can't be used in II or in Weeks

I always put TUG and Madge in the subject line of my emails to feedback@rci.com. They normally answer within a couple of days, which isn't terrible compared to other companies. Delta, for example, never seems to respond to anything I send them.

I'm not sure what you mean, Ronald. As I said in my original post, "I told RCI that they couldn't have the weeks, withdrawing them from RCI Points during the Home Week Reservation period," yet the resort insists that this is still a RCI Points week and can not be deposited elsewhere. I am not aware of any other way to tell RCI that they can't have your converted week.

Claiming your weeks through the home reservation preference doesn't tell RCI they can't have the weeks, but is evidence that the weeks were indeed taken into points. The points contract provides that your weeks will become RCI points by default unless you follow the specific instructions to "opt out" your time and decline to cede them automatically into points. Such weeks not ceded to RCI points are still not eligible for deposit into RCI Weeks by their choice, but should be of no concern to VRI and other exchange companies.

We have tried to sell a week managed by VRI and the first question many ask is if it has been converted to points. I don't think you will have any trouble selling it. We have traded our week through RCI and, with the VRI advantage, done okay. Have not used II so don't know how VRI deals with that.
