We are going to Kauai and Big Island in mid-April. We have already purchased the Delta airline tickets to Honolulu. Will the interisland fare come down for the mid-April flights?

Since we did not buy the Delta airline tickets to Honolulu together with the interisland tickets, will Delta let us check the luggage all the way to Lihue?

Thanks in advance!

Baggage transfer

We :wall: went last summer to Kauai and flew AA. When we checked in I asked if they would check our bags thru to Kauai since we were flying Go form HNL to LIH. AA checked us thru and we didn't have to handle bags at all.
On the way back though they (GO) wouldn't do it so we had to reclaim our bags and recheck them at AA.

I doubt if prices will come down, with the current price of gas, but you can keep checking. Whether or not you can check your bags through depends on the interisland carrier - do airlines do not have this agreement with Go!

Oh Yeah. We are heading to Kauai/Oahu in June, via Delta.

Delta always transfers our luggage to Aloha. Make sure you give Delta your inter-island airline and flight number, before you depart the mainland.

Roundtrip airfare between Maui (evening) and Kauai has gotten so expensive! We are so shocked by the high prices. Darn! We never have had to pay $183 RT for those flights, and the irony is that Hawaiian is cheapest.

We are going to two islands. First Kauai, then Maui, but we are flying into Maui because we wanted to fly out of Maui that last day, rather than fly to Kauai.

So we are flying to Maui through HNL, then back to HNL, then to LIH. Crazy! 3 hops to get to Kauai is basically what we are doing, but fortunately they are all Hawaiian Airlines, so we can check our luggage through.

Made reservations, (Hawaiian Airlines) going from HNL to OGG (Honolulu to Maui), round trip, the end of April to the middle of May. Total price, was $110 each---that is $110 (including all fees/taxes/etc) for the round trip ticket for each of us. That is $220 (total).

I think that is a reasonable price.

The flights are not bad between HNL and the other islands. But flying from OGG RT to LIH, wow, so expensive! We are just stuck with that later flight, which is higher. No big deal, really. I just have to get over it! :)
