Hawaii Hurricane

I went walking this morning, and saw a few broken branches and an uprooted tree. There was not much damage in the Ka'anapali area. Yesterday we went into the ocean, and the waters were fairly calm. The water was also pretty clear, and snorkeling was good.

We arrived on Kauai around noon, and it was drizzling and warm. I'm staying at the Sheraton in Poipu today, and will move to WPORV tomorrow. Other than the clouds and light rain, nothing much going on. As far as I can tell, Julio will go pretty far north, and may have little influence here.

Flooding primarily occurred with storm surge in Kapoho on the big island. Rainbow Falls in Hilo was raging. The east side of the big Island got particularly hit hard with lots of downed trees. Most of the west sides of Maui and the big Island were spared.
