Have you noticed UPS (shipping co) Customer Service going down recently?

Had a terrible experience with UPS (which is unusual from before)..
On searching online, seeing lots of folks with similar suboptimal experiences with them.
(Apparently lots of job cuts; focus on short term numbers & away from service).
Have any of you also had issues with UPS recently?
Any advice for dealing with issues with them & getting better customer service?
(was an almost 1 hr wait to even speak with a rep, who was offshore & not helpful)..
TY!

The problem is that too many of them use offshore reps that simply go through a decision tree. I agree, they are rarely helpful and are really just there to try to resolve 90% of the issues. Mostly basis issues people call in for in which they could get the answer on line. My main issue with any customer service is the stupid IVR system that is too slow. I would like to say just shut up so I can give you my answer. I think most companies use this to week out a certain percentage of callers that don't care enough to bother with the BS. That saves a bunch of money.

It was super painful to bypass their automated system aka AI assistant.
New buzzwords for same suboptimal service :-(
+ super long wait to talk to a cust svc agent..

If UPS parks on the road below our house they end up walking up 47 stairs so I never complain when they drop stuff off at the bottom of the second staircase. Some of the things I order are heavy. Fed Ex has a smaller van that can make it to our door. UPS in our area only has the big brown delivery van.

I order things and they show up but I haven't had to call UPS for anything. I dislike automated systems so I get your beef.

Like all 'automated' systems, if everything goes well, it's all good.
It's when things go south and we need to contact them for CS, is what separates the great Co's from the not-so-good ones..
UPS used to be great; now, not-so-good....

Yesterday I sent back by refusing to accept an Amazon order that didn't cancel on time, even though I tried to cancel it right after I ordered it. I'm kind of wondering how this will play out. Amazon emailed me to refuse the order or send it back. The UPS guy gave me no paperwork and I see that the package hasn't been delivered yet but is still out for delivery. I hope I don't end up on the phone like you.

Hope it works out well for you...
AMZN usually is doing most of it's own deliveries & not using UPS as much now...
AMZN is also usually very good with their CS & will usually make it up for you, even if there is a UPS snafu..
TY

Personal experience: I'm finding that good service has almost disappeared with USPS, UPS, and FedEx.....

Horrible package turnaround times and terrible customer service!

Hoping that things will improve in the coming months.

In my town, Santa Cruz CA, USPS still does a lot of Amazon deliveries.
My friend is a Letter Carrier. Any time he wants to work Sunday for Overtime, it's an all Amazon day.
Still wondering how that can be a profit making venture for USPS.
