When Hyatt first bought Welk, several noticed that we only received one Bonus point for every $1 spent on MFs. A quick phone call fixed that for us, and the next year we received our promised 4 points per $1 on MFs.
In both 2024 and 2025, we have purchased Access packages at the end of an Owner Update. We also paid for two extra nights on an Access package. All three of these purchases garnered us 1x Bonus point for each $1 spent; it should have been 4x.
We have now called Chase three times to get our Bonus points on these purchases. The first time, the phone rep hadn't filled out the forms correctly. But the second time, Chase sent a letter flat turning us down saying that we either "used a different credit card" or we "already received the bonus points." Neither of these are true.
Today was our third phone call, and we immediately asked to speak with a manager. She was quite knowledgeable and understood our issue. But when she looked at her list of 4x eligible transactions, "WHV RESORTS ACCESS WWW.WELKRESOR CA" isn't on her list. To be fair, MFs are charged under "WELK RESORTS PLATINUM," but you'd think that any normal person would see the similarities.
Since we live quite close to The Welk, our next step will be to actually talk to people in the Sales Office and get them to inform Chase that "WHV RESORTS ACCESS WWW.WELKRESOR CA" is a valid Hyatt charge and deserves 4x Bonus points.
Has anyone had similar trouble getting World of Hyatt points through their World of Hyatt credit card?
