Has anyone tried to submit a post 06/2010 week?

I am wondering if anyone has tried joining the Marriott DC program with resale weeks both before and after the June 2010 closing deadline.

For instance, say you have a week bought from Marriott, a week bought resale before 06/2010, and a week bought after 06/2010 and have yet to join the program. What would happen if you tried to add all the weeks at once?

Has anyone tried?

I've tried it and the system will not let you. It will tell you the week is not eligible to be enrolled because either:

1. Its already in the DC
2. Week doesn't qualify for enrollment (words to that effect)

Several people tried it and succeeded in the few months immediately following the DC start-up. There was a loophole that's since been closed. It was talked about it in a thread that managed to bring TUGger MVCI Customer Advocate out of hiding for one of his/her two posts.

I knew it was done early on, but I am wondering about more recently.

I am thinking about someone going in with several various good weeks that the DC may need and stating to them that it's an all or nothing scenario.

I vaguely remember something from a couple months ago where the TUGger had high-demand Plat Weeks and gave them the same ultimatum, got a "no" answer. Can't think of anything more recent.

I wouldn't count on having that strategy work for you. In my experience, that approach is a good way to get out of a sales presentation. The conversation ends pretty quickly when it reaches that point. From what I can tell, there is no wiggle room for a salesperson to even consider such a thing.

In the future, I can imagine Marriott dangling that option in front of legacy week owners if they are willing to purchase additional trust points. But otherwise - no.

I am certain you are correct, but I was thinking an online specialist, not a sales person.
Remember the old "when their mouth moves" saying?

They already have option to retro if you purchase 2500 DC points.

That's what I offer each presentation we attend and they've yet to take me up on the offer. Last time at HHI the first guy said he thought it was possible and took it to his superior who came back and said no way.

That really is the only way I would join since half my weeks wouldn't be eligible.

Do you get to the page where it tells you how much the cost is? Or does it stop the process prior to that point?

Not sure this is the case. I believe one Sales Person said if you bought a "resale week" FROM Marriott and 2500 DCPoints they would enroll that week. Not sure I have heard that this has been confirmed by an actual purchaser yet.

I get the initial page that starts off like this:

As an Owner who purchased prior to the launch of Marriott Vacation Club Destinations™, you have the option to enroll in an exchange program providing for your existing use options plus access to the Marriott Vacation Club Destinations Exchange Program with an additional use election, Vacation Club Points...

and at the bottom of the page you have a check box that says "I understand" and a buttom that says "Start Enrollowing Now". Once you click on that page it brings you to 2nd page that will show you any eligible weeks. If you have a post 06/20 week, it wont show it listed, however, you will see a "sticky pad" graphic that says "Ineligible Inventories". You click on that link that says "View Lists" and then it will bring up the weeks that are enligible. It will show the list of your weeks and the reason. I have a legacy week that I enrolled back in November so it shows that as "enrolled" and then I have a resale week I purchased in January 2012 and it lists "MVC Week Purchased after 06/20/2010" as the reason.

When I stayed at SurfWarch last summer, I met a sales manager one day.
He called headquarters to answer my several questions to being more specific answers and said that Marriott was introducing "retro" program like Starwood.
He advised me to purchase DC points later when retro is really in the sales system - I already own too many Marriott weeks and he didn't see anything good to purchase then. He was a nice guy.
