Has anyone had a successful experience trading a deeded week into a resort that is owned by points owners only?

I am trying to trade my deeded week timeshare into some resorts that are not deeded week owners but are all points owners. Has anyone been successful in obtaining a week in this situation or am I wasting my time using an ongoing search in II with points only resorts? I asked the question to II and was told that points weeks become available when they are deposited into II by the resorts out of their inventory. I would appreciate any answers regarding this question.

Which resort? Big developers like wyndham and hilton often deposit into both weeks and points inventory. There are other resorts that may be points but still have some weeks owners. If it truly is a resort that gets rci points inventory only, you won't be able to access it with a weeks account.

One resort is Shell vacation club Beach Boy resort in Kauai, the other is Westin Princeville resort and Sheraton Kauai resort in Poipu Kauai. I'm searching with Interval International, II.

With interval deposits are made as weeks even if the club exchanges with points. Shell has moved their club deposits over to RCI since Wyndham bought the Shell club, and only deeded week owners can deposit in II. Bulk deposits are now made into rci. Vistana (Weston and Sheraton) deposits are controlled by the developer and they decide which weeks to deposit. Vistana owners have priority. That means that a week would have to have no ongoing requests by Vistana owners and has to sit online available for Vistana owners for 24 days through II before someone who doesn't own Vistana would have a chance to book one of those weeks. Sometimes studios and even less freqently 1 BR units are deposited without priority.

I have exchanged into the Westin Princeville using a deeded week a number of years ago. Shell did deposit beach boy into interval when they were using interval so they probably will into rci but there were very few compared to the resorts on the big island and oahu..... Ownes use and shell rents....not much is deposited.

DVC deposits in both weeks and points. Probably slightly more in weeks inventory. Most are deposited 4-7 months out. In case you didn't know only 1 BR DVC's are deposited. For the last few years 90-95% are are Saratoga Springs and 5-10% at Key West or Animal Kingdom.

Perfect, I’d want a 1 bedroom lol. Even better if I can deposit two years and get two one bedrooms! I’m assuming the views are pretty bad? No SV for AK? Lol. Guess I can’t complain if I’m getting exchanges. I’m ok with SSR or OKW. On the sales presentation I went to and everyone here confirmed, that since I would be booking less than 5 mo in advance for most trips during slow seasons I’d only be seeing SSR or OKW 1 bedrooms if I owned DVC. So why pay the DVC price if I can get a low cost trader and get In that way every other year.
