Hi,

My company suggested that I fly out of Windsor (since we are in Michigan) that would not be hard for us to do... I found a flight that was very reasonable but I wanted to know if US citizens would need passports to get on the flight, we have used our enhanced drivers license and birth certificates in the past to go to Winsor....thanks everyone for the help

If you are flying international (and you will be as you are going from Canada to the US) you will need a passport as US CUSTOMS requires all returning citizens coming in via plane to have one. If you were flying just within Canada or just within the US, a driver's licence would suffice. Going across the border by car only requires an enhanced driver's licence (either US to Canada or vv)

Thank you, I was thinking I would, but wanted to verify....

We flew from Vancouver to Honolulu once. The cool thing is US customs is in the Vancouver airport. So once you go through US customs and you're sitting in the waiting area in Vancouver, you will have already cleared US customs. When you arrive in Hawaii will arrive as a domestic flight. I have traveled extensively for the better part of my life but that was a new one for me.

Toronto / Pearson YYZ has US customs clearance for flights to USA.
it is so that flights can go to airports in USA that do not have customs.
It has been there a long time - pre 1970'.

I rather doubt that Windsor Ontario airport has it - but worth a phone call to the airport authority .

Lots of airports offer this now, and more will in the near future. I've seen this in Vancouver, Dublin and Nassau.
