I understand they are doing work on one of the pools and redoing the parking lot. How much did this inconvience your vacation?

That work was scheduled to start on Monday October 6th, but actually started a day early. They closed the Cobia pool down on Saturday night and started draining it on Sunday. I texted the messaging system to ask why it closed a day earlier than scheduled. They said to drain it. Why not then say on the HUB that it was closing on the 5th? Both the hot tub and pool by Cobia/Pompano are closed with a detour needed to get to the fitness center in Pompano.

Anyway. We checked out on the 5th and there was no issue for us. They have the Cobia pool and hot tub closed. I suspect the parking lot resurfacing will happen in phases as it looks like they are doing all the surfaces. There is no way they can have all that closed at the same time. I would suspect they would do it in sections between each building. It will be a problem if they are resurfacing near the building you are staying in as you will need to park elsewhere.

Do you know when the pool work will be finished? We check-in on October 23rd

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare with all of that going on at the same time. I guess the one saving grace is it is generally a slower time of the year so hopefully pool chairs and parking aren't impossible to find.

How is the pool chair situation at the other pools? When we were there last week, the weather wasn't all that great with Hurricane Imelda and a tropical disturbance offshore. So the pools were only marginally busy.
I should have mentioned I am not currently at the resort but will be later this month and report back. I just saw that picture online and thought I would share in case anyone was interested. I did speak with someone at Pre-Arrival who said it is quiet there right now and they did not anticipate any issues and that is why they are doing it during these months. I have to think the people that like to put their towels down and reserve their chairs at 8am may be heading down even earlier but we will see. Was told getting to the gym is a little difficult also. Regardless of what building you are in we typically walk around the entire resort so that area being closed will make it feel a lot different.
This may be our 1 OP stay where we request the Kingfish building as that will not be affected by parking lot or pool repairs and will be away from the construction noise.
