Our house is on a slab and no snapping noise or movement whatsoever with the wood floors. I love being on a slab and will miss it when we move.
New house will have red oak wood throughout except the 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and laundry area.
That snapping is from poor installation usually from the floor not being leveled
There can be other issues such as moisture that can cause planks to release
The noise usually is caused from an airspace below the board. When you walk it touches the concrete and the adhesive then snaps as it lifts back up. Sorta like gum
