Hi All,
We just returned from Harborside late Saturday evening. The weather was great with no rain until we were on our way to the airport for our return flight. The average daily temperature was around 90 degrees and the ocean water temperature was about 86 degrees. Food was good but as usual, it was expensive. We did eat at the Poop Deck in Nassau for dinner one night. The prices were a lot less than those at Paradise Island. They offered good portion sizes, and the food was very tasty at about half the cost. We also went to the Arawak Cay Fish Fry one day where the food was also good. I was told by one of the SVO representatives that Atlantis is going to be expanding again. The SVO sales representative told me that they have three more expansion phases planned for the future. Atlantis bought the property where Zio Gigi’s and the other buildings in that strip center were located and they have demolished them. The SVO representative said that Atlantis and is going to expand the Marina. They want to add more shops and places for family dining in that area. I was also told by a different SVO representative that Kerzner International also purchased Club Land’or and there was talk of bringing in exotic animals and building another tower to have something comparable to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas. I asked about the phase I renovations, and was told that they plan to start in January 2009. They told me that they will be getting new paint, carpet, granite counter tops, DVD players, and other furnishings. He was not sure if the phase I color would be like the tropical colors that they have now, but said that he hoped they would. We had a great time and can't wait to return next year.
