Now that I think about it a bit more, I wonder if a menopause reference would be more apt?

As an aside, the wife has endured that living slice of hell for several years now so I have some indirect experience here.
Idle thought: why can't hot flashes come in the dead of winter when you really need them?
 
@bbodb1 I don’t have answers to these lofty questions. But I’m standing firm in my belief that good ‘ol America is going through some bumps but... we will persevere.

And no, I don’t have a study , data, or experts to back up my hypothesis.

Happy 4th of July!

I socialized with my first human beings since March. My good friends who I have known for 32 years are spending the weekend with us. We have been taking daily walks, watched Hamilton and The Laundromat, spent the day in the pool and had a barbecue. I will be sad when they leave tomorrow. It was fun to feel like Covid did not exist for a couple of days.

I learned something new today. Did you know that many African Americans do not celebrate July 4th? In one of my Facebook groups, I learned the reason is that they do not associate July 4th with independence and freedom. This is very sad. So please be sensitive when you say Happy 4th of July.
