Y'all! Is this what I think it is? (At the bottom of my Benefit Summary...)

Can someone who's used different numbers of guest certificates vs. guest allowances confirm? (My problem is I get 2 guest certificates and 2 guest allowances, and haven't used any of them.)

I've used one, of the 2 allowed during owners priority seasons, so that tracks.

Don't think I used three because I didn't know I had three.

This tracks for me. I haven't used any GCs during priority reservations periods - so I've still got two available. Nice!

I don’t have that in my account. I wonder if they still need to update for everyone

I'm in the 0/3 camp. I have used 2 of the 2.

Full disclosure. I did get charged for 1, incorrectly, in the spring that was reversed after a phone call. Perhaps, the workaround was to up me to 3 and then count the incorrect one against the upped allowance.

Interesting. However, I didn't have anything like that happen. I definitely used two -- one for each of my kids (both in their 40s) and their families to go to Bonnet Creek for spring break.

So, I have used one... and had one backed out because I was traveling as well. I don't think that answers the questions around the following image, though:

I am pretty sure that isn't correct, but maybe they are changing the 2 allowances to something based on account type? At this point, who knows!

Hi I just bought a resale for the first time so ALL this is new to me. Just want to clarify there isn't a limit or additional fee for the number of guests that come with me right or is that what the allowances are for? So for example I book a room with a max occupany of 4 it cost the same whether I bring 1 or 3 people with me correct? Do I need auest allowances to bring people with me?

You can have as many people with you in one unit up to the unit's total capacity, as long as you are the one checking in to the unit. Each (of the) owner(s) can only be the lead guest on one unit at a time, and guest certificates are required if any non-owner is checking in.

Read up on the Club Wyndham site about how Guest Confirmations work. This thread is not about Guest Confirmations, it's about Guest Allowances - which only apply when you're sending a non-owner to a resort that has a blackout period in play.

You can read more about blackout periods here:

It sort of makes sense that if they have to manually fix guest allowances when the owner is traveling with their guest, their workaround could be to allow the system to use that guest allowance, not replace it, but manually add another 1/1 to the pot. In which case I would expect it to say 1/3 for you, not 1/4. Who knows, maybe they messed up on the first try and had to add another one?

My shows 1/6. I think I have used 1, certainly haven't backed out of 4.

But thanks for noticing and bringing to our attention, @paxsarah, and everyone for posting. Surely it should represent the number allowed, and hopefully will make sense some day?

I have found this varies by resort. Some resorts the owners can have more than one confirmation in their name say from different accounts and the owner don’t have to be staying in all the units to check people into it.

Mine looks right 2/2 I have used no waivers this year. Hopefully the system knows what it is doing because when I called last month and asked a rep if I had waivers left she read the 2/2 and told me I had used both of mine. I said nope naw, nada I have used none. She then figured out how to read the line item. And agreed I had used none.
Being a Wyndham owner is exhausting now days.

Does anyone know when guest allowances RESET? I'd used my two for this year by May and now a reservation I got for a family member in April 2024 says I can't add a guest because I've used up my guest allowances. This makes it hard to plan, because technically, I've not used the guest allowances for next year.

January 1st with everything else

That's what I thought. So why don't I have a guest allowance to use April 2024? I found the marker or tally bar in the Benefits page, and it doesn't show any available for 2024, but shows I have 0/2 for 2023

You don't have "future use year" GCs in your account, since GCs are burned when you use them - at the time of the transaction - as opposed to the assigned reservation date in the future. Think of GCs like Reservation Transactions (RTs) in this respect.

It seems a little counterintuitive at first, but I think it probably makes sense from a system perspective to track Guest Allowances by calendar year at the time they're placed on a reservation, since that's also how Guest Certificates are tracked. I guess that also aligns with what has been said (here, I think?) that Guest Allowances are burned when they're applied, not at check-in, so you could lose one simply by cancelling a reservation without a traveler ever checking in during restricted times. (Though I think it's kind of crappy and I don't think it serves the spirit of the policy very well and only serves as a means to confuse and frustrate owners who are already annoyed that they only get two Guest Allowances.)

CG are used up from the current year only. You can't use a 2024 allotment until you hit Jan1 2024.

I'm usually pretty good at remembering and searching to find where I saw something, but not this time. I'm just carrying around in my head that I thought at the time I read it that it was a reliable source. But hopefully Wyndham does actually return the guest allowance on cancellation.
