Groceries at Harborside

We had foodstore2go.com deliver on Sunday

Hi All,

We are here at Harborside and I promised I would report in on foodstore2go.com. Their website was easy to use and you just need to have an order in by 8 pm the night before you want delivery. The minimum order is $50 and the delivery fee is $9.

I placed a large order because I have a large family. Sharon and Ash arrived with it a little before my delivery window, which was fine. They called 10 minutes in advance to let us know they were on their way. They came in and put everything in our fridge. They are a very friendly couple and they own the business and do all the deliveries themselves.

Just a note. When we checked in, I mentioned to the clerk that we were having a delivery. He told me to double check that I received everything. My order was large, so I eyeballed it while we they were here, but didn't do the itemization. After they left I did and found about 6 items missing. They were all non-perishable items. I called Sharon, and she said it looked like one bag hadn't made it into the delivery bins. She was very apologetic and arranged to bring the items first thing the next morning. I would not let that dissuade me from ordering again, but thought I would let everyone know our experience. I believe the prices are higher than the grocery store, but not by a lot. Much easier for me than stopping on the way in or having to go shopping. It also allowed me to know what was available in advance, so I could plan meals.

I hope this info is helpful! :)

Emily

glad it worked out, and thanks for the update. ill go ahead and use them too next month.

FYI....We've used papertowels as coffee filters and works just fine in either type of basket. :) trim excess paper, fill with your favorite coffee grinds and brew. No mess, no ground in my coffee.

We have packed the Jif small peanut butter cups in a carryong ziplock bag from US to NAS without any problems.

You got peanut butter through in a carry-on? Wow, I almost missed a plane once over canned icing!! And, this year, my luggage didn't arrive to St John for 2 days, which Cont'l blamed entirely on the TSA (and I still think it was the peanut butter!).

Just as a reminder as I have seen others post about running out of paper towels/dish soap==just call the front desk and ask for a new supply. Or leave a note for the mid week cleaners==have never had an issue with these things being replaced when needed.
I am one of those that brings my own shampoo and soap since I only like to use certain products so can't comment on that!

Sitting here at nassau airport after a wonderful week at Harborside, and thought id report back on foodstore2go.com while i wait for my flight. I placed my order 2 days before arrival, Sherry delivered the few breakfast and snack items i ordered. She was on time, the fruits that were brought were nicely selected. I would definitely recommend this service. Glad i found it on tripadvisor, and very happy to have shared it with tuggers.

Rice cooker in a timeshare unit?? How about a covered glass bowl to use in the microwave--that you might find!

The Hilton timeshares in Hawaii have nice rice cookers -- but, it's Hawaii! My favorite find was an electric mixed in one of the Hilton affiliates on Captiva Island! :)

Doesn't anybody just take the van from the resort to the grocery store that they run every day?

All it takes is an hour at 10 AM.

We were there in early Oct and I took the van (small tour bus) to grocery store. Bus was full. I returned after 30 mins. with my stuff; bus was half full on return trip. Bus went back to pick up the rest at the top of the hour. The only problem is that you have to get up early to catch the bus.

I didn't buy liquor at the grocery stop this time because I found the small duty free liquor store across the street from Harborside. Prices were better than in US.

so does mowing my lawn, but I pay someone for that too

Whoop-de-freakin-doooo. This isn't about YOU. It's about options to get groceries. Personally, I'd rather not stop at a store in the cab from the airport to pick these up. I can spend some AM time taking care of this after I'm checked in. If your needs are different, so be it.
