We want to take our daughter to Greece for graduation. In order to afford it, we need to use our Marr pts. Anybody have advice on where to stay? The Interval books have no stars posted. This doesn't deter me - just makes me cautious and in need of advice.

Thank you!

Are you referring to staying in a Marriott hotel? You can only use your Marriott reward points to stay in a Marriott hotel or a Marriott time share. THere are no time shares in Greece and I believe the only hotel is the one in Athens. The hotel in Athens is nice but the location is horrible. It faces a very busy main street with 4 lanes of traffic whizzing by and is surrounded by office buildings and warehouses. No restaurants or night life anywhere near it.

We used points last summer and stayed at the Marriott Ledra hotel. We stayed one week at the beginning of our trip. When we arrived our luggage didn't. They were very accommodating giving us hygiene items and cleaning our clothes for free until our items arrived. We paid extra for the "executive lounge". We ate there every morning and evening. We got our moneys worth out of that. They had free computers too. The employees were wonderful. There was a free shuttle service to the Plaka area. But it only runs till dinner time (not Greek dinner time) about 4 or 5. We took a city bus back or walked. It's true that it is on a busy street but the noise was not an issue and we were on the street side with a wonderful view of the Parthenon. The hotel pool is on the top floor and the view is spectacular! There is a pool side restaurant and also one in the hotel.
We really enjoyed our time there and would go back again. We checked out and then traveled for 2 weeks (one week on a Greek island cruise and one week driving around). The Marriott was kind enough to hold our luggage that we didn't need until our return, for free! When we came back for another night stay, it was as if we were family members returning...asking how our trip was. They were truly excited to hear about it. It was sad to leave the next day (we were flying to Spain to go on the Disney cruise in the Med) but we will be back. That's for sure.
Hope this helps
