I was talking with a HGVC concierge (aka 'Owner Update' Scout) a few days ago who told be that the #1 question/complaint she gets from owners isn't high MFs or lack of resorts or why don't I just get Max for free?

It's how can I stop seeing the Great Wolf resorts? And when told that you can't, asking Why Not?!?

is anyone using actually hgvc points to go to GW at rack prices?

It’s cheaper to actually rent directly from then when they have a sale … the points don’t work well on great wolf trades etc … impo

They are only in the system because they have sales centers there. HGV doesn’t expect anybody to book with points. Sales lines it because it’s dots on a map.

They could remove them if they wanted to, but why would they?

Search is a hot mess, for example pick from the Destination menu - Big Island and in addition to Waikoloa you get Oahu, Vegas, Orlando and NYC BUT no GW Lodges ;)

Do you have HGV MyExplorer+ Personal Recommendations turned on?

If you want to stop seeing other HGVC locations, click on your account name in the top right, select Manage Communications, and under HGV MyExplorer+ uncheck the box next to Personal Vacation Recommendations.

Interesting, I never noticed that before. To be honest, I would not have expected that to be added in other states or locations when I specifically asked for just one.

You and every other HGVC owner in the world (including me). I'm just grateful they allowed us to turn HGV MyExplorer+ off.

New software feature that was turned on by default. Huge pet peeve of mine. BTW, I do software development. Crap like that is some product owner marking their territory. If it's a completely new workflow you are rolling out, then it's fine. Affecting an existing workflow just infuriates me. Too many users aren't tech savvy enough to figure out what is going on.

The Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs is nice, but it's expensive per night and is only booked on weekends. Weekdays it's dead during the school year.

We had a room that slept 6 with water park tickets for less than $150 a night fyi

Great Wolf Lodge resorts are great for what they are. The water park is great, especially in the northern winter months. Many of the properties have a MagiQuest game that my kids loved when they were younger. We haven't been to a Great Wolf Lodge in over 10 years, but we enjoyed them when we went.

That all being said, the points are sky high and I believe that HGV expects they won't be booked very often, if at all.
