We are leaving in a few weeks for Cabo, and I just randomly checked in on Trip Advisor, and saw horrible reviews for the Grand Mayan. Are they still under construction? It's now Sunday evening, and I'm trying to figure out my options. Will RCI do anything for me, or do I just suck it up and stay in a construction zone. Has anyone stayed there since the hurricane, and was your experience okay. At this point in time I am not expecting great, but okay would suffice.

Hi Kathy

I arrived on Friday evening and there was jack hammering until 8pm, Saturday about an hour, Sunday and today it's been quiet. That's not to say it may start up because I can see the building they are working on from my room. It's at the end of the resort near the ocean. It will probably be the La Plaza mall as the one in Nuveo Vallarta. Some rooms are still being painted and repaired. At least on my floor (4th) there is but it has not been intrusive. Main pool and swimup bar are open. Wifi is free for up to 4 devices. The resort is gorgeous and the employees are pleasant and accomodating.

I too had concerns about coming but fortunately it is not as bad as I expected.

No, it is not a construction zone....

Thanks so much for the reassurance. We had decided to keep the reservation after talking to Eduardo at the Grand Mayan. We are familiar enough with the Los Cabos area that even if it is as bad as can be, we still have options during the day to make our trip okay. But I am truly happy to hear the good news!
