Last time we visited MGV in April 2002, the pools were unheated. Can anyone please tell me if the new pool, or others, are now heated through winter and spring?

India

I just called to ask.

The desk person I spoke with said the pools are heated through the winter. But explained that the heat is not always on. For instance, she said that today it was 83 in Orlando and the pool was not heated during the day but they may heat the pool at night to maintain the water temperature.

When I visited Horizons just up the road in the beginning of January the pool was heated. You could see steam coming off the water at night and in the early morning. I was amazed to see the pool full of kids at night when it was very cold.

Did you ask about the pools when you visited two years ago?

Charles

last year when we visted in march, they SAID the main pool was heated. well if it was, they must be conserving power because it was FREEZING!!!the lap pool did seem to be very comfortable and the pool in the west village was the absolute coldest!!!

Thank you for your useful replies. We did ask last time but were told they were unheated. As Marriott owners elsewhere, can we use other Marriott resorts whilst staying at MGV e.g. cypress harbour or Horizons?

I don't believe that you can use the facilities at other resorts. There are some situations that may be considered exceptions, e.g., you can use the Marriott World Center facilities when staying at one of the Marriott Palms [Imperial, Royal, Sabal]. But, if I were to check in and the pools were not heated after being told that they are heated, I would certainly ask to have pool privileges at another resort.

India, do you want me to call and re-confirm what I was told yesterday? I would not mind one bit.

Charles

There in December

We were at Grande Vista in early Dec. and the pool adjacent to the main lobby was freezing. The pool directly across the lake was warmer but still very cold. If they are heated, I am surprised!
