We tend to grill out several times when at GV, but prefer the ease of the gas grills. Unfortunately, there are not many at GV per our recollection and the sitemap.

Does anyone know if there are more gas grills at Grande Vista than indicated on the sitemap? If so, where?

I am only aware of the ones that are identified on the map. This is one issue I have with Grande Vista (where we own). The gas grills can be a long way away from your villa if you are in the wrong location. If you plan to grill out a lot, place your villa request accordingly.

Agree. While I love GV, they need more gas grills! Given the size of GV, it can be quite a walk to get to the few gas grills available. This can be annoying if you are carrying enough food for an entire family (as we do).

I've only been to GV 2-3 times, and gas grilles were few and far between.
However, I grilled quite frequently by purchasing a large bag of BBQ briqettes that lit pretty much instantly. There seemed to be several regular charcoal BBQs around and I didn't mind sitting at a table waiting for the coals to whiten up.
Those BBQ's were cleaned every day. It just takes a bit of getting used and going "old school"

I was just at Grande Vista last month & the grills between building 83 and 82 were marked as charcoal grills but they were in fact gas grills. We were happy to discover the map was not updated. We had a great trip by the way & I'm sure you will too.

That is good to hear. Then they really only need gas grills between 97 and 98 or 99 and 100 to have each section of the resort covered. Perhaps they have already done so. We will be at Grande Vista for two nights in September, so I will be sure to take a walk around the entire resort to check everything out.

I confirmed this month on site that gas grills are located between buildings 93 and 94 also, but still indicated as charcoal on the resort map. I did not check the other locations.

Great to know. Can't wait for our visit in September.

Happy to report that there are now gas grills at all of the grill locations on the map. Don't know when the additions were made but we took a walking tour of all the buildings just last month.

We were at Grande Vista in April and were elated to find that every charcoal grill location has been retrofitted with gas grills now! I guess management actually read those guest reviews complaining about the almost total lack of gas grills on the GV property. Now if only Palm Desert Villas 1 could follow suit!

Grillls a plenty

Im currently at Grande Vista. I called and talked to the manager on duty Ethan Houser because I am a Marriott multiple weeks owner I felt I could ask for favors. he recommended building 91 because many local owners ask for it because its somewhat quieter than others, it has a nice pool, hot tub and pretty quite compared to the main complex.
He was right after walking around this huge resort this is the best location.

Gas grills, there are about 5 at the pool area, and as I was grilling we were ask to leave because of lightning supposed to be coming in so I packed up and just outside the pool gate there are 2 more grills with in 100 feet of the pool grills.

I think the resort map that many reference is a little out of date. At building 91 there are 7 gas grills and 2 charcoal.

This was in the Grande Vista newsletter we received today:

We converted 32 of our charcoal grills to gas based on Owner and guest feedback. These grills are located in 11 “pods,” bringing our total number to 40 gas grills.
