Grande Vista: finishing up our first-ever week here

Anything special I have to do at Vistana Villages to make sure I get the ENC? Last time I stayed there I had a hard time getting my 7 nights credited to my account even though I left my MR # at checkin.

We'll be gone by then. As to making sure you get the ENCs, I suggest charging something to your villa that was purchased at the restaurant. I usually buy a side of fries for something like $7. Don't rely on the Marketplace that is in St Augustine section or the gift shop as those are third party operations. We haven't had any issues getting the ENCs when doing this at SVV.
 
Internet at Grand Vista seems better today ... So far. But I really don't get the problems. And this is advertised as Marriott's "most extensive resort" and in a major market. Then again who knows how bad Wyndham Palme Aire will be next week...
 
I don't remember this being an issue when I stayed in October 2023 and May 2024 and I stayed in the West Village both times. I was surprised how bad the wifi was when I was there this past December between Christmas and New Years.

I think they fixed the Wi-Fi here at Grand Vista. Not sure what it was but the day after the notice it got a lot better.

Or a lot of guests went home after MLK? Is that a possibility?

It seems like soon after they texted they had an Wi-Fi issue and were working on it - it started working much better, so I'm guessing it's more they fixed something.
 
They've sent out a text twice at Vistana Villages that they are having problems with the WiFi and that guests can't use name and villa number to login. They are just providing a passcode instead to access WiFi. Other than that, there are no issues.
 
I am at Marriott Streamside Douglas (Vail) and I found skillets and a blender. No detergent for the washing machine though.

Glad you enjoyed Grande Vista. I'll be staying there for the first time in a couple of months. Which building is near the lap pool?
Ideally, I'd like to request a room that is near where the restaurant, fitness center and lap pool are. Is that possible or are those 3 things spread out across the resort?

They're all in the central complex (well one of the restaurants is). Buildings 80 and 81 face the main/lap pool complex, and the gym is on the ground floor of building 80. I'm not sure I'd want to stay in either of those buildings due to the noise.

Hi all,
I have been at grande vista since December 19th and am building 87 and indeed they have been replacing the roof since January 5th. It is almost finished and they have started on building 83. They removed everyone from the 6th floor so we had quiet weekends being on the 5th floor.

The great engineering person I have had to interact with because of numerous problems said that they have a new internet provider and that it is not going well.

We head back to Sheraton vistana resort on Friday January 30th for 5 weeks…..then back north to cold!….maybe we will find a manor club week with a certificate or a cheaper getaway closer to that time to give us a more gradual return to the cold.

And the lap pool is just for adults in the morning.

I am happy to try to answer any questions people have.
