Just received my first MF bill as a new Grande Vista owner and see a charge of $28 for "Reservation System Fee (Non-Club Owners): The fee for non-club Owners to cover the cost for Owner Services support."

Can anyone explain what this is for? Non-Florida Club members have to pay extra to use the regular Marriott reservation system? Do other FL Club locations have a similar charge for their non-Florida club members or is this just at Grande Vista?

Thanks in advance for any insights you can give.

If you own at Grande Vista, Ocean Pointe, Legends Edge, Doral, or BeachPlace then you are automatically enrolled into the Florida Club whether you want to be or not.

I understand the annual charge is $29 for each week that you own.

Not sure this answers your question

I just got my MF invoice and the Florida Club Fee is $32.00. If there a different price for different seasons/size of unit?

Here's what Marriott is telling me:
Membership in the Florida Club is not automatic--you opt in or out at time of purchase (for an additional fee?). I inherited this unit from my father who opted out at the time of purchase so I am NOT a member of the Florida Club.

Florida Club fee for 2009 is indeed $32.

I'm being charged $28 for something called a "Non-club Owner Reservation System Fee". The person in the Marriott Finance Department couldn't explain what this was. She said it was specific to Grande Vista and I should ask the condo association there.

Sounds to me like I'm being charged $28 for the privilege of using Marriott's reservation system--something I thought was automatic with Marriott ownership!

Anyone else familiar with this charge?

Everyone in the MVCI system is charged the Owner Reservation System Fee of $28. I thought it used to be $25? If you own a MGV week that is not in the Florida Club you also pay this fee. For MGV owners this is listed seperatly on their MF bill, for other resorts it is hidden within the MF on the MF budget breakdown. For MGV Florida Club owners you pay the $32 fee. I thought it used to be only $29 or $30 last year. You are only then paying $4 extra to be in the Florida Club vs every other Marriott owner.
