We had a wonderful dinner out with BocaBoy and his lovely wife this evening. Talked for two hours and it wasn't nearly enough.

Been a great week for Mona (and friends), and a great "long weekend" for me. Beautiful day today---got up to 66.....felt perfect----cool enough but 100% sunny....not a cloud in the sky. Yesterday was awful with a bad rain storm, high winds, and errie-looking ocean with whitecaps and constant churning, but that seemed like an unwelcome anomaly compared to all the other days. It came violently and went away quickly. By 2pm it was a memory. Headed home tomorrow, but back in 2 weeks, FOR 2 weeks. Needless to say, cannot wait.

There are a lot of great folks here at Grande Ocean (or on the island) for 10-12+ weeks---one couple, friends of ours, arrived in December and will leave in March..... Wow, worse places to be! People are out biking daily, walking the beach, etc.....the usual routes as you well know. Made a run to my favorite wine shop today---candles now lit-----last evening well underway.

Enjoyed talking to you earlier this week----- don't work too hard!

According to the owners letter put out in the fall, that side was set to undergo its refurb starting January 2016.

So assuming nothing threw off that timeline, it should be happening or at least starting soon.

We just checked out today, will return in 2 weeks, but this is what I know officially from resort management........

South side refurbishment has already begun, in this sequence:
Starfish (OF/OS) building was first, and is currently down. Laughing Gull (OS) is in process of going down. Then Sand Castle (OF), then Kingfisher (OS), and last is Sand Dollar (OS).

"down"=unoccupied and refurb in active process
OF=Oceanfront....OS=Oceanside (Starfish bldg has both)

Refurbishment schedule calls for completion of entire South side by March 19
but of course that is tentative.

Not my favorite, but maybe it'll look much better when finished.

The old one was really small, had few chairs, and was not so beautiful either, only functional.

But I'll get used to it and it'll be fine.....and very busy!

The people will add bright colors and it will be quite lively.

I would love to visit there one day as it is so different from Maui!
