Hubby and I arrive Sunday, Oct. 30. Just wondering if any Tuggers will be on site to meet up.

Jim, I'm ignorant. Is Lakeshore in Hilton Head?

I'm intrigued that +70 people looked at this thread but seemingly none will be there. Wonder what drew them to look past the headline?

Lakeshore is in Orlando. It's about 1.6 miles due east of Grand Vista as the crow flies. It's my first time there and we're bringing the second set of grandkids. One more set to go and we'll be done paying the mouse. The parents can take them from here on out.

Disney seems to have increased their prices quite a bit. A few years ago with the military discount it cost me about $400 to get 4 adults and two kids in for four days. This time around it looks like it's going to be about $850 for the same package. That's on top of the $450 my daughter forked over to see the Halloween Parade.

In the next life I thought I wanted to come back as a drug dealer or a government contractor so I could make some real money. Now I'm thinking I'll own an amusement park.

Thanks Tom!

I'm finding it hard to believe not one Tugger besides me is going be on HHI next week. And when we check in and all the choice rooms are taken, I'll be told that it's all owners occupying the resort this week. And none are Tuggers? Hard to believe. At least there will be opportunity to spread the word.

I looked, not because I was going to HHI, but because I was curious who else was. No real reason, I read just about every thread regardless of the topic. I am sure that I am not the only one that does the same.

Thanks Tom!

The TUG community makes up less than 1% of all Marriott owners. Halloween week is also low season. So it isn't surprising that no one else has jumped in to say they would be there.

In all the trips we have taken to Marriott timeshares, I am only aware of one time that other Tuggers were at the resort at the same time. That was a Thanksgiving week at Grande Vista.

Dioxide, Thanks for responding (and having a healthy sense of curiosity)! Kind of a shame that more Marriott owners don't participate in TUG.

Oops--Jim just have seen you own at Grande Vista and missed that the Grande you were posting about is "Grande Ocean". Sometimes it's difficult to keep the Marriott resorts sorted. ;)

I looked at your thread because we're going to Barony and Grande Ocean next April. I wanted to see what kind of response you were getting as I had this feeling Hilton Headers were such a lively and gathering group. We spend much more time at Ocean Pointe but that's specifically because of the weather in Jan., Feb. and March and the ability to extend the stay with lock-offs. However, I love Hilton Head and the casual freedom of walking and biking forever. Well, at least until we're exhausted.

As far as spreading the word for TUG, we have found the easiest way to spread our OPnewsgroup info is to print out a sheet with as many of this type of info you can fit on the page:

Best website for any timeshare owner or user: www.tug2.net

Then cut up the page and pass out the strips of paper at the pool, pool bar, activities, elevator, etc. If you're comfortable with the people you meet you can add your name and email address and possibly get a referral.

This is much easier than trying to find pen and paper when you've just met someone.

I know one of my renters will be there from 10/28 in an Oceanfront unit. Jim and Marsha B. from Michigan. They actually bought one of my GO OS units and we swapped their OS with my OF because they wanted a late Oct week and I needed the last week in August.
