Grand Palms Resort - Surfside, SC
We've been a long time owner at this resort but haven't stayed in a couple of years so was just wondering if anyone has stayed here lately and what are your thoughts about the encroaching residential areas closing in on our resort? How do you think this will affect our resort and what do you see in the future for our resort? Do you think they'll eventually just shut down? We kept our odd year week even though Wyndham tried to "up sell" us out of it. So far I think we made a wise decision.

Although it still feels like "home" for us when we visit there we haven't seen, in person, the freshly cleared area that was once the beautiful golf course making way for another phase of residential housing.

What are your thoughts??

BUMP

Does anyone have recent pictures of the encroaching residential areas on Grand Palms?

I own there but I never stay there nor have I been to MB since 2017.

We will drive over in June. We still own an EOY Even and EOY Odd. So basically an annual week. I rent these every year for $300-400 over MF's but am getting out because Wyndham took over. I am afraid things will change and I won't be able to rent our week anymore.

RW has Grand Palms listings that say "high season," but they are spring and fall weeks, not prime summer. I find that to be quite misleading. Only weeks deeded 20-38 are high season and have the highest trading power and rental value.

Still a nice place to stay. We recently did a deed back there and they charged $1,000. It was fast and easy. Went to the Wyndham "update" and all they did was tell one lie after another.

We don't do the "owner" updates anymore. It would be nice if they actually gave the owners an update though.

Wyndham is doing a major update on the units. The pictures of the Grand Palms 3 bedroom presidential updates impressed me.

Still selling our even and annual weeks.
