We can't go back to the Mayan resorts because of the 1-5 rule. We had a unit exchanged for week 52 and they cancelled it.......if I rent from the Mayan, am I still excluded from the 1-5 rule? thanks for your input.
Here's one with some Grand Mayan rentals, and I'll bet there's no 1-in-5 rule.Could you give me their websites please????? thanks
(whatever you do do NOT follow their map to the TS) but, I know if anyone has any questions on the Mayan or Grand Mayan-Phyllis is the absolute best source. She probably knows things that Grupo Mayan doesn't even know yet!The Grand Mayan is NOT owned by Wyndham- it is owned by Group Mayan. (Sr. Chavez) The Wyndham group rents the developer units. I own 4 Mayan Palace units and 2 Grand Mayan units. I do not get any Wyndham exchanges through them.

I was also fooled by that Wyndham thing(whatever you do do NOT follow their map to the TS) but, I know if anyone has any questions on the Mayan or Grand Mayan-Phyllis is the absolute best source. She probably knows things that Grupo Mayan doesn't even know yet!

Pittle: I defer to your expertise as I am not a Grand Mayan owner. However, I did spend a week at the Grand Mayan Riveriera Maya in May 2008. We had a wonderful vacation and during that time we attended the TS sales presentation. The sales reps made a very big point of telling us that Wyndham had purchased El Grupo Maya.![]()
But Wyndam does own RCI, who also rents out rooms.
