Hi

I'm looking for advice from those who have stayed at both the GM NV and GM RM. I'm having a hard time deciding which one to choose. Some of the things I wonder about is:
Which is the larger of the two resorts?
Which one has a nicer beach?
Do they both have a "lazy river"?
Is one more reasonably priced for food, beverage and activities?
What are the main differences (besides their location)?

Which one would you go back to and why?

Thanks!:)

Hi

I'm looking for advice from those who have stayed at both the GM NV and GM RM. I'm having a hard time deciding which one to choose. Some of the things I wonder about is:
Which is the larger of the two resorts?
The Rivera Maya is about 4 times larger
Which one has a nicer beach?
The Nuevo Vallarta beach is much nicer
Do they both have a "lazy river"?
Not yet, currently only the Nuevo resort has the lazy river
Is one more reasonably priced for food, beverage and activities?
Both have great food and at reasonable prices for a 5 * resort.
The activities at either can be costly, as with any vacation destination.

What are the main differences (besides their location)?
The Nuevo resort is 9 stores with great ocean and pool views, where the RM area is 3 stories with no ocean view.
The Nuevo resort is compact when compared to the RM, which we prefer.
Which one would you go back to and why?
We prefer the Neuvo/Puerto Vallarta area , while others will prefer the Rivera Maya area, we like the old town Mexican feel that PV has , versus the new area that is the Cancun area.

Thanks!:)

Thanks Aliikai2! I think I'm leaning toward NV. It's a little closer to home too.

Aliikai2 is right on the mark. We agree with the preference for PV. While I'm glad that we visited the Riviera Maya location, I don't think we'll go back . . . unless the waterpark they promise requires us to return!!

I really wouldn't mind how spread out RM is if we didn't have three kids (and often a couple little friends) in tow, but that will be a few years for us.

Furthermore, you just can't beat the Pacific side sunsets and the warm Mexican ambiance. Cancun feels like Mexican Vegas to us; nice but we don't get to practice our Spanish and take in the fabulous culture.
