Actually, I quite liked the resort, I would consider coming back. Our family loves variety though, and am not sure I could be tied down. If I buy I will take the advice of " buy where you wanna go "
By the way, how much cheaper are the resales? I looked at red week, very confusing
One thing we like about the GM system is the variety from the small resort setting in Cabo to the Mega resorts at Nuevo Vallarta and Riviera Maya; all the different Mexican locales are quite different. We really like to go to Mexico at least once a year - so this works well for us.
Concerning resales, many people selling are still under the illusion that timeshares actually have value. You have to find folks that know the real value and just want out of the Maintenance fees; they are out there. Grand Mayan resales are a little tricky as they change things from year to year such as transfer fees, mandatory MF's, senior discounts, and what transfers on a resale. Make sure you know the contract details before making any offer - but a little research and patience can be quite rewarding.
