So assuming it meets reserve of $3000, plus the $2600 MR transfer fee, plus closing costs of $260, plus 2006 MF $783, it could be yours for a mere $6,643. Not a bad deal since the original owner paid $26,000.
I also thought it interesting that you have to renew your RTU every 25 years "fees yet to be determined", even though the membership is good through 2103. My Club Regina RTU is good though 2046 (I'll be dead and gone by then) and I don't have to renew every 25 years.
Grand Mayan has got to love resales. They make the outrageous transfer fee from every resale for doing nothing. I'd have to guess it costs them less than $25.00 worth of labor to change the ownership records.
So when the next seller, sells it.. Is the transfer fee still $2600 or will it be 10% of the $3K?
So when you buy into the Grand Mayan system, you don't actually buy at a specific resort - you just get to use any of the Grand Mayan or Mayan resorts? This always confuses me because some adds say a specific resort with use of the others and some just say you are buying into all of them. Can anyone clarify?
I think you do actually buy into a specific resort but like Club Regina can reserve at the other locations as though you owned there. This particular ad is for GM Mazatlan.

So there is no particular advantage or disadvantage for owning one Grand Mayan over another? Also, isn't the 2bdr a Grand Master Suite? This one looks like it says it is a Grand Suite. Anyone know the difference or have pictures of the room layouts?
Hmm, I think I need to retract the specific resort comment. I went back and reviewed the ad again but don't see Mazatlan listed at all. Wonder where my brain was yesterday? Maybe on vacation?
Not too good of a return on investment for the buyer.. what do these units cost these days from the developer? $30K?? and the buyer netted just under $11K .. ouch
WOW - with 2 hours to go, I looked and it was at $3,100. It really must have gotten crazy at the end. Sure doesn't seem like such a good deal now at over $10,000, when it looked like it wasn't going to clear the $3,000 reserve. Oh well, such is EBAY. Congrats to the buyer (and the seller too, since he was willing to take $3,000), still saved a ton over retail.
