Just wanted to share, we went on II this morning and made an exchange for WKORV in October 2008. We used a small 1 bedroom, week 45 Kierland (37,000 options) for a 2 bedroom lock-off!

We are so excited to be going to Hawaii and extremely pleased with our exchange. This exchange, if we went thru Starwood, would have used all of our 148,100 options! We feel like we won the lottery or something.

I don't really care if we get island view, I'm going to Hawaii!!!

Congrats that is a great exchange!

Awesome exchange!! Woo hoo!

You'll love Maui. I strongly recommend Warren and Annabelle's Magic Show. Make reservations now. :)

Very Cool!

Congratulations! Very nice! Are you sure its not illegal to do that?

This is also your first I.I. trade, right?

Not only did the lockoff pull a Maui 2 bedroom, it did it at a year out. That has to help with coordinating well priced air.

Those V resort resale owners that can't use Options have to suffer by trading this way all the time. Poor devils. But, they do get to console themselves by remembering how little they paid for their Starwood timeshare.

A Mission Hills Silver season resale buyer told me he figured his first two I.I. trades returned his purchase price.

Caution: May Be Habit Forming.

Yes, this was our first II trade. We saw the unit with the larger premium one bedroom, so I went back and tried to see if the smaller one bedroom could see the unit. The smaller unit was able to see it and I went ahead and took the exchange.

Great trade!

So did you already have the Kierland units on deposit with II? What season do you own at Kierland? Did Starwood deposit weeks in your season? I haven't used II for trading as I'm a little leery of having Starwood pick the week/unit that gets deposited on your behalf.

The unit was deposited by Starwood about 3-4 weeks ago. We had an unused 2007 two bedroom l/o week at Kierland, platinum season. The unit was left over from a resale we had just closed. We split the unit into two and Starwood deposited two 1 bedroom units, both week 45 at Kierland, which is gold season. I didn't want a Vistana deposit, so I told them we were trying to trade into DVC (Disney).

Every day since the deposit was made, we have been checking into the II site and checking the daily inventory. We have been really surprised of what units and resorts have been available for exchanges. For example, earlier this week there was a DVC-Beach Club unit available for the week of July 4th. I am a DVC owner and can not get that trade/room, but it was there on II for about an hour.

One more thing, I was able to reserve the room at 11 months, 2 weeks from our check-in. I could not have done that unless I was an owner at the resort. I would need to wait three months and two weeks mor to get the room via Starwood, using my staroptions.

Great, great trade. If I didn't have school-aged kids, I'd buy a nice SVN trader like Kierland or Mission Hills. What size was the BCV over 4th of July? Did you see a lot of WKORV 2 bedrooms, or just that one October week?

What are your MFs on the small 1 bedroom side you used to trade into WKORV? Adding in your II exchange fee, did you pay less than $800 for the week?

Congrats on your great exchange!

The m.f. on the small 1 bedroom side are $471.03--that includes the $99 SVN fee.

The Beach Club was a one bedroom. I almost jumped on that, but it was only one week after getting back from from Harborside.

There were four two bedrooms at WKORV and I think there were four at WKORV-N. Right now there are two left at WKORV-N and three left at WKORV.

I don't own a one bedroom, week 45 at Kierland. That was what was deposited into my II account by Starwood. My total cost for the exchange was $139. The week that was deposited was an used week from my resale purchase. The previous owner paid the MF's for 2007, but left the two weeks on the account unused, which we deposited. They were free weeks to us and gave us a chance to see what II can do for us.

Congrats on your great exchange!

Thanks, we are so thrilled. I'll be all over the Hawaii Forum now getting tips, suggestions and recommendations for our upcoming trip!!

If I were an IV owner who was traveling during low season (October), I'd seriously consider depositing my WKORV unit into II on the hope that I could get a 2 bdrm trade at the same location for far fewer points. That should leave plenty of points to enjoy another week or 2 elsewhere.

Congrats! Thats a fantastic trade. Now if you can get a Princeville week to line up you've got a Grandslam!

Lol, definately not a personal thing, more of a time thing. Taking this trip was on impulse. Are vacation schedule is already packed for the next 14 months. We are leaving tomorrow for Disney, going to Disney for New Years, Disney in March, Disney in May, Harborside in June, Myrtle Beach in August, Hawaii in October and Disney again in December.

Besides, the kids are still in school and its kind of hard to be away for two weeks straight.
