"Starting in September, the Google Chrome web browser will no longer automatically show Adobe Flash advertisements, the search giant announced yesterday.

Chrome is the second most popular browser for desktop and laptop computers, with about 28% market share, behind only Microsoft Internet Explorer, according to NetMarketShare..."

What about non-ad Flash content? There is still a ton of that.

I just found out about Adblock, which puts the kibosh on almost all ads, Flash or otherwise. Bliss! I never bothered until the recent spate of auto-starting ads (and content) with sound. I'd have 5 tabs open at midnight when one of them ... no idea which ... started blasting a car commercial in spanish.
