I have google maps, and the Resort Map in front of me.

I am trying to evaluate what building to request.

We are both Golfers, and love to watch as players Putt on the Green.

I read that "Golf View" is the most requested there.....so this may all be a moot point.

As I look at the Buildings, they are not a straight line, but more like an L (or an L turned in any direction)

So, even if I asked for say Building 2700, while there are some of the units within that Building that look toward the Golf Course, other would overlook the Pool (not sure if out the Front, or Back).

Building 3400 and 3300 look too close to Tatum Boulevard, so I would prefer not to be in those Buildings. And, I read it can be a little noisy/rowdy in Chola Courtyard....so while I want to visit the area, it seems like I would want to not be in Building 2400, 2500, 2600.

With us going for Thanksgiving, we think we might enjoy the 94 degree Pool the Best...... but won't it be CROWDED?
(If so, that might rule out Building 2300.)

For those of you who have stayed there, what Building(s) do YOU prefer?

Thanks

Do you know what your II unit # is (on the My History page)? There are two kinds of 2BR units and that code may determine which building you will or won't be in as they have lock off and non lock off units.

Here are the unit codes. It is most likely that you have ZZAA as most units there are lock off two bedroom. I understand that buildings 2300 and 2400 are all TOVI. Knowing what you have will determine what your options are. We've had a golf course view a few times in different buildings. I don't really recall stellar golf course views.

TOVI....Canyon Villas...............N/A................2BR dedicated unit.
ZZAA....Canyon Villas...............N/A................2BR unit that locks off in to 1BR and studio.

I got told pool views were the most requested, so likely whoever you talked to was trying to manage your expectations, particularly as you are going at peak time.
On II exchanges with a lock-off unit we've got golf course views in 3100 and 3000 and while it is nice to see the greenery there wasn't much golfing action to watch. Those units also get the morning sun, so it can be a bit warm sitting out with your morning cuppa, but is good for most of the rest of the day.

The unit type says ZZAA (now I know that is a Lock off).

So, not every Building has Lock offs within it?

2300 and 2400 don't have lock off units. So you likely won't be placed in those buildings.

Is there a sidewalk to JW? How long is the walk if we are placed close to the entrance.

Are Buildings 2300 and 2400 the ONLY ones without Lock offs.... please list others....thanks
As far as I know, those two are the only ones. It should also be noted that building 2100 does not contain any villas, just the sales gallery.

Yes you can walk out onto the access road and along it to the JW entrance or you can walk across the JW car park to one of the side entrances. Its about a 15 min walk.

The video review that you have (not THIS website) of 2BR lock off.....it has a decent view of the golf course.....what building was that??

I usually take a video clip of the room number but don't have access to all my footage from there right now so I can't verify. I don't know for sure but seem to recall that being either 2900 or 3100. It's definitely near the long fairway in front of those buildings. It was a top floor unit.

It's funny...the very beginning of the video has you at the front door....but we can't see the NUMBER....it looks like that was intentional...haha.

If it is 2900, or 3100....how would I get the smaller part of the L,..... as that faces the course.

It looks like if it isn't a golf view at 2900, then the longer side of the L doesn't have much for views out the front or back of the unit.

If it's 3100, it looks like the back side at least overlooks Lizard Courtyard, Firepit, etc.

That being said....with your thought that only 2300 and 2400 have lock offs..... that would mean the video wasn't 2900 or 3100 (?)

Thanks for helping me

It is certainly the short side of the L that faces the golf course. I was trying to analyze the video to best determine which one it was. When on the patio of the 1BR side, the distance between the two buildings isn't a lot. The room in the video was actually a corner unit and I am leaning more toward 2900 now. I've circled the two possible units it could have been but I would think any golf view unit in 3000 or 3100 would have a similar view.

2300 and 2400 are dedicated 2BR units. Buildings 2300 and 2400 the ONLY ones without Lock offs. The unit in that video is a lock off.

My not showing the unit number wasn't necessarily intentional. This is one of my earlier videos that I recorded in a different format. I now try to have the unit number behind me when I record the intro, but sometimes I don't or forget. I usually record a clip of the unit number sign, but just don't have access to 100% of my Canyon Villas video clips right now.

Since I am exchanger, I suspect that I will be given low priority for Building request.

So, I may not be given "Golf View", nor even just "High Floor".

As I look at google maps, videos, and Resort layout, it appears to me that Building 2700, unless on Floor #3, might not be able to see over the structure that is at the Pool....hence not even a "Pool View"..... can anyone verify that?

So, if I am given a "low" floor.....which Building would have some sort of nice view.... perhaps something like 2600... would that have a nice view of Cholla Courtyard? Is that a noisy place at 10pm in November?

Yes, some of the lower floor units in 2700 will have obstructed views due to the rock features at the pool. Lack of privacy could also be an issue. Any of the courtyard views can have a little noise if there are people out there talking or taking part in any activities. I doubt it would be much of an issue at 10pm, but voices seem to carry more after dark. 3200 might be fairly quiet because that Lizard Lagoon isn't an actual pool, it is just 1' deep. Most people don't bother with it and they just go to the regular pool.

We will be without kids, so 3300 looks to be my last personal choice. 3400 (because of Tatum Boulevard, etc) would be my next least favorite.

3200 units on the small part of the L look in the direction of Golf Course, but perhaps floor #1 would be blocked by Trees?

The units in Building 3200 that are the Long side of the L..... do they have a view of the Shuffleboard/foosball area...Grills, too?
And then the other view from them is Splash area?

Maybe that'd work.

OK....let me ask any of you that know the Resort area well (dioxide, etc)

If you KNEW they were going to give you a LOW floor, which Building guarantees a least some nice views (not roadway, not Trees, not the back of any structures, etc.)
(We have to exclude 2300 and 2400, because we have a Lock off....and those buildings do not.)

Thanks,
Pat

3400 doesn't contain any villas. It is just a maintenance building. So no worries about getting assigned that one.

Only building 2900 looks out to the main entryway roadway. None have a view to parking lots or the back of other structures. All buildings are only three stories.

For non golf course views, the following applies.
3300 & 3200 overlook Lizard Lagoon
3100 & 3000 overlook Lizard Courtyard
2900 will look out to the main entryway and lobby on the other side
2800 & 2700 will have pool views. Though the ground floor will be obstructed and lack privacy
2600 & 2500 will look out to the Cholla Courtyard
2400 has a view to the Cholla Courtyard
2300 has a view to the Spa Pool
2100 is just the sales gallery

I would just try to avoid 3300 due to road noise and 2900 due to the entry roadway. All other views would be fine but I think they have pickleball in the Lizard Courtyard which can at times be noisy.
