Golf Course View at Kings Land

I have question on one bedroom suites at Kings Land. We have previously stayed in the 1BR Premier suite in Phase 1, which is the top floor. I had always understood that at KL basic 1BR was ground floor, the Plus units were 2nd and the Premier suites were 3rd floor, or 2nd floor end units where its only two stories.

Planning our trip for next year, I was thinking of booking Phase One, ground floor to have better access to the BBQ, plus save a few points as we bringing some friends and I need two suites. I noticed the descriptions in Revolution show the basic suites as ground floor, (partially obscured golf course view). While the Plus units are Golf View, first or second floor.

How obscured does the view get, and are there ground floor units with a “bad” view at Kings Land? I know your just looking at the golf course, not the ocean or beach. We were in building 11 last time, and from what I recall there was some lava and shrubs or wild grass dividing the resort from the golf course, but otherwise the view was reasonable. Are there parts of phase one where the view is more obstructed?

We stayed at a basic 1BR at Marbrisa, and looked straight into a hillside / beam for the road from our windows and patio. My wife still complains about that view. Hoping to go for two weeks, and would like to keep my wife happy, as it almost always make for a better vacation…

How many points? It may be phase 2, all the one bedrooms have parking lot views. In phase 1 there are some ground units in buildings 1,2,3 that face the pool which has the fake lava mound that obscures the golf view.

The ground floor view in Phase 1 is not special, but not bad. Basically lava rocks and trees, I don't even think you can see the golf course. We would not hesitate to take it, for the reason you articulated -- easy access to BBQ and the green grass makes it almost like a park just outside the unit.

I always thought I would prefer the ground floor actually, but enjoyed the second floor on our last trip, and its view of the golf course and lake from building six.

I had building 6, first floor in Phase one and I loved it. I would choose it again in the future. Since you are getting 2 units, you'll be able to walk on the grass to each lanai. The view was excellent and included many wild goat sightings.

its definitely Phase one, the description lists Bldg 1 - 11, 7200 points or 5100 in Gold for the 1br,

I had forgotten about the lava mound by the quiet pool.. that would block the golf course for sure, but then again its not a bad view.. though possibly a bit more noise than the units with just grass

That is a good point, plus assuming our units are adjoining or close we could drag the chairs over and spill onto the grass from the lanai.. Seem to recall the lanais are smaller than Kohala suites, and four adults may be tight..

Bay Club has the large lanai, not sure about Kohala. We will be there last two weeks of May, counting down the days!

Thanks for the feedback, It sounds like there is not really a "bad view", just a choice between easy access to the grass and grills vs. the slightly more interesting views of the golf course..

I have enjoyed watching the golfers during previous stays at KL or Kohala suites..

Will check my resort map and see where building six is located since both you and Presley mentioned that. Obviously we can't reserve a specific building, but can always call to request..

Will have to think over the different options.. This is for out 2017 trip, so lots of time before i can even book.

Though its killing me not going to Hawaii this year..

Just came back from a stay in a 1BR ground floor building 9. Large grass area and the b-b-q area on the grass near the middle of the building. Far enough so that you are not disturbed by people at b-b-q. Just completed soft renovations in February. Golf course beyond grass area. Not all buildings have 1BR standard view.

I had my breakfast and coffee out there every morning.. Our KL unit just had the chairs and small table.

Dh and I stayed at Kohala Suites last year. The lanai did have a table and chairs and a couple of chaise lounges, but it was tight out there. We haven't stayed at the Bay Club for quite awhile so I don't remember the lanais there, but the units are certainly bigger.

The Lanais at the Bay Club on the 2 BR A floor plans are L shaped and are 648 sq ft. They are huge.

Next week is gold season, so less points, you will probably have a phase 2 one bedroom if its an owner deposit in SFX. Its just across the street from the clubhouse/pools but all the one bedroom units face the parking lot.

You might get lucky if the owner spent a lot of points for a phase 1 unit.

My RCI exchange was a phase 1 two bedroom plus (second floor), the view wasn't bad but they put all the RCI exchanges in building 1 so its a long hike to the clubhouse.
