First trip to Yellowstone next week. Will have 4 days. Anything unusual I should now about the park, limits on entry, etc?

The road between Canyon and Tower is still closed. I have been watching to see if they are putting timed entry or other limits on entrance but have not seen any. the line to get in from West Yellowstone can sometimes be VERY VERY long. It really depends when you catch it. You will be in a better position if you have a pass as opposed to paying a daily fee to get in.

When we were there last summer, there were lots of areas we sat for long periods because of construction.

Where are you staying? Which entrance will you use to enter the Park?

I will be in Bozeman Mt next week and planning a day in Yellowstone either Friday or Saturday. I do have a pass. Any suggestions as if better to visit on a Friday or Saturday (June 4 or 5).

If this is a one-day in-and-out from Bozeman, you won't see much- except the windshield. Maybe from West to Old Faithful , maybe a short hike to Grand Prismatic Spring and drive alongside the Firehole river. Friday or Sat. won't matter. The animals and thermal features don't take weekends, so they're open. Yellowstone is HUGE. Only about 3% of it can be seen from ANY road, and you'll only see about 1/4 of the road that circles inside the park.

I took 3 days and still needed more time, like others posted it a huge park, totally with what time you have there.

I recommend an all day trip with Bryan at Let’s Go. We have an all day trip set with him in late July. The fee is about $140 for the day and the tour is 12 hours. We have been to Yellowstone many times and always toured it on our own. This time, we want someone to take us around and do the driving. My husband grew up in Montana and went to school in Bozeman so he knows Yellowstone inside out. Yet he likes the idea of someone driving us and giving us some history along the way. Bryan can pick you up from where you are staying bc I believe he lives in Bozeman. He is picking us up in Big Sky. His tours get great reviews. He sounds like a character and he should make it entertaining. BTW, I do not agree that you can’t see a lot in one day. Every time we have gone to Yellowstone, we have seen a ton.

I also recommend a guide. My wife and I hired a guide for 3 days which was well worth the money as we saw things I am sure we would have never seen without him. Our guide was out of Island Park and was great.
