I would absolutly go to Morrocco. Take the ferry from Tarifa. Buy the tix at the port. They have a time limit for parking at the port, so when you leave the port, turn right and right again in about 100 yards. This will take you to the free port parking lot. The first time we took the tour, I think it was about 50 euros and it was great. Next time we will just take the ferry as it leaves you off just outside the Kasbah. You will be hounded by sellers but frankly, I enjoyed it.
The tour will take you to all the interesting spots, a one euro camel ride(read Photo op) and guide you thru the Kasbah.

trachda,

You are going to have a wonderful vacation. I am presently trying to trade there for next summer.

Please make sure to tell us all about your vacation when you return.

I have read that it is best to use a tour guide when taking a day trip to Morocco. If you do not, you will be hounded from the locals the entire day. It's a thing over there, it's how they make money.

Also, there are some advantages to having a guide...including safety. When we go, we are planning on taking a guided day trip.

The day trip I took to Morocco was one hour on a bus, two hours on a ferry to be rushed through the filthiest part of old Tangiers, then to a rug market, then a bad lunch, then an hour bus tour, then three hours back. The most memorable part of the trip was being able to say I had been to Africa.

I would think a day trip to Granada, Seville, or Ronda would be more enjoyable. I know several Moroccans, and whenever I mention that day trip to Tangiers, they always ask me not to judge their country by it. Now if you could do Casablanca I'd jump at that.
