Thumbs-up for Costco.

The off brand DLP HDTV set that I bought about a year and a half ago started to get twitchy now and then. I returned it to Costco and they gave me a cash refund with no hassle. I bought another set from them for $300 less than I paid for the first one and it promises to be a superior product.

I will look to Costco first on all future big ticket item purchases.

Wow, Good to Know!! I like Costco anyway, but this is great info!

I know Costco is good to their customers. My sister bought a computer from them a few years ago and it had problems. She brought it back and they let her exchange it for another model that ran $300 more and didn't charge the difference.

I recently got new Michelin tires put on my car at Costco. They were at least one third cheaper than other places around, and they offer free rotation.

About a month ago, I bought a large clamshell of strawberries at Costco. It was perched high on my overflowing cart as I approached my car in the parking lot. Just as I got to my car, it fell, spilling strawberries all over the parking lot. I was too tired to go back inside to get another box.

The next week as I was buying another box of strawberries at Costco, I mentioned my previous experience to the cashier. He told me that I could have brought the box back in and they would have refunded me my money!

Your experience has inspired me to go to Costco to pick up that new camcorder that I've been coveting. :p

I have a great Costco return story as well. Almost 3 years to the day, we returned leather furniture than was wearing poorly. It originally cost about $2K. They gave us a credit on our Amex.

Regards.

Costco is the only place I shop for big ticket items. I had a computer printer for about 2 years and was having problems with it. I went to costco to buy a new one, and was talking to an employee. Mind you I was not asking about returning it, and he suggested I do so. I was stunned, I explained that I did not have a receipt or even the box it came in. He told me no problem, but without a receipt I could only get the lowest price for which it was offered at Costco.

I brought it back in a few days later and got a refund. I did not expect one, and when I asked for how long they would take returns I was told there was no time limit. The guy taking the return said he once took a 10 year old TV back from a customer.

Why would I ever buy a big ticket item anywhere else?

!!!

Thanks so much for sharing - this is incredible! Gee, wouldn't it be nice if Costco bought RCI from Cendant!??!
