Here in PA the gnats are the worse I've ever seen...As soon as u step foot on the grass, especially in the morning, ATTACK ...I've tried a bunch of personal sprays and found the only one that works for me is: "OFF" DEEP WOODS....We have several repellents, but Deep Woods really works..(for me). I've tried Cutter and the rest...What works for u?
When playing youth baseball (just a few years ago) we would put vanilla extract on the bill of our cap and sometimes behind our ears and seemed to do the trick pretty well.

I don’t know if it’s still available, but we used Avon Skin So Soft. Would rub it on our skin and hats. I also purchased one of those contraptions from Bryon Kimball (?). It was a mosquito type net...I would wear a hat and drape this thing over my head and down my shoulders. Would really keep those nasty things away from my face and ears. They didn’t seem to like my light Irish skin to bite, but would bite and draw blood from Italian DH and our kids.
