Has anyone dealt with these people before? I've been dealing with one of their representatives this morning discussing Harbourside and have just received a call from another of their reps. (he had spotted a question I sent in to their office about another property) who did a pretty good character assasination on his colleage when I mentioned my earlier discussions with her. This has left me a bit wary on whether I should be even contemplating dealing with these people.

The GMAC office I'm dealing with go under the heading 'Timeshare Resales USA/GMAC Real Estate' in Orlando. The lady I spoke to first is Michelle Donato who a few people here seem to have dealt with as well.
It would seem that her colleague Russell has an equally low opinion, I think this is the point where I end the brief relationship. Can you elaborate on what exactly she did that was underhand?

I would NOT post a specific reason to avoid using someone, but a simple statement that you would not do business with her will give people the message.
On the other hand, I have bought a timeshare from International Properties, GMAC in Orlando and I HIGHLY reccomend using Tracy Wetterberg 800-259-7100 x7760. She was awesome and I got a great deal!

We used Bobbi Dixon out of that office, but she is no longer there. I would say they have a constant changeover in agents at that office.
I personally think their entire marketing scheme is sleazy. Timeshares Only is the listing site and those commercials lead people to believe their timeshares are worth way more than they are. They are an upfront fee company, plus they charge the buyer, too.
I wanted to purchase Fairfield/Fairshare Plus points very recently and told the guy what we would be willing to pay and for which resorts. He went on and on about how my price was ridiculously low and no seller would even consider selling. Well, how does he know? He did not ask. These poor owners have listed timeshares for upfront fees, so perhaps they would consider a lowball offer, which is in line with what I can buy them for on ebay. I was trying to avoid a purchase from yet another postcard company. Some people are willing to pay upfront fees and pay postcard companies, but they are not willing to take a low offer? Whatever.
I'd rather not give details in the public forum.. lets just say I have dealt with them all and I was more unhappy with her than all of the rest combined. 2 years later, I'm still furious about the stunt that happened
There are so many people out there that people will recommend without hesitation - why deal with someone who gives people pause?
Did I read your post correctly that Russell, who is in her office, had negative things to say about her? That is amazing
Yes and No. Yes Russell was particularly ruthless with his comments but it transpires that Michelle works from home and not out of an office. At the same time however they both still fall under the GMAC timeshare resales team out of Orlando so I was stunned, I've never encountered a situation like that before.
I put an offer in on a Marriott property when Michelle worked at GMAC International Properties. I was very unhappy with the way things went and ended up cancelling the deal. A few months later I saw a property that I wanted and called the manager and said that I would like to buy it but I wanted a different agent. The gave me someone else and I was happy with that closing.
