Has anyone had recent experience with this firm or Doug Menjivar? I just won an Ebay auction for about $3,800 and am seeing some pretty negative stuff but it's a couple years old.

How did it go I just won a bid with the Global Title Group LLC

I’ve bought two Wyndham deeds from him as well, I have nothing but nice things to say about both experiences.

They seem sketchy. Any post of them are from accounts that are new and with few posts. Always a red flag

They’re not. I’ve bought from them twice.

I'll take Fido's advice. He is a well known and trusted poster here.

They drag their feet, the process can be very slow, but we bought a few from them.

I've found just the opposite that they record the new deed and process the transfer very quickly.

So, the process took a long time but it was completed. They did great, I was a little unsure at first but, my worries were for not. Thanks to Global Title Group staff for getting it done. Thank you

I finally got a deed to sign after a month of waiting and it says the consideration paid is 8k more than I actually paid. Ariana from timesharediscounts says it doesn’t matter and is just for deeding purposes. Has this ever happened to anyone? If I sign without this being corrected would I be liable for the difference?

Are you buying the timeshare? If so, why would you have to sign the deed? The seller should be signing the deed.

I was also confused, maybe it's a location thing or even more reason to suspect something fishy is going on?

I believe in Hawaii both parties have to sign the deed--Of course I do not know if this is a Hawaii property or if some other States require it

I'm less concerned about that part on its own, more concerned about the 8k difference in the consideration price on the deed. Have you experienced this? Do you think I should sign?

Are you certifying that that is the price you are paying?
If so I probably would not sign it
If it is something the seller is certifying I probably would go forward. Who knows what goofy deal exists between the selling agent and the owner
And no I do not ever recall seeing that on a deed--but I might have just missed it

I thought that at one time, though after researching it I discovered that the buyer only had to sign if they were also assuming a loan along with the purchase of the deed. Though I think some closing companies just have the buyer sign anyway. As far as I know, Louisiana may be the only state that requires both seller and buyer to sign a deed.

Maybe because it’s a custom house rtu? It’s actually called a grant of lease not a deed because of the rtu. I told them I am not signing until they revise it as it asks me to certify that all the information is correct before I sign. If they say no then I will cancel and dispute any fees they keep with the credit card company I guess…

Also yes I know the MFs are high but it’s a place I plan to use

“That is the consideration amount for calculating transfer real estate tax we pay.”

That’s their response, I have asked who we is and if I would have to pay taxes on this number which is much higher than what I paid.

Seller is covering all closing costs and transfer fees so if it’s a one-time thing it may be okay?

I suspect that they are telling you a story
I also suspect that @Robert D is correct
You were right. They included what I paid plus what the seller paid in the ROFR cost. Have any of you ever heard of that? Going to reach out to my credit card company to see if I can dispute this as these people are definitely shady.

Edit to add that they agreed to refund my money.

Were you charged the total or just what you thought you were paying?
