Has any used this method for the interview? If so, how did it go for you? I am conditionally approved and just have to do the interview. Appointment availability is so limited right now this might be my only option.
Thanks!

You might want to ask about this over on FlyerTalk in the Trusted Traveler forum.

I did this at Newark Airport. Worked great and only took a few minutes. After I went through Customs, I asked the Customs agent where to go to do this. There was a separate Customs booth where they had a designated agent. Do not exit the Customs area.

Thanks for the info. CBP sent out an email suggesting this method to do the interview.

What documents did you have to produce during the interview? The email said to bring passport and evidence of residency. Then it lists examples, drivers license, mortgage statement, utility bill, etc. The more documents the better or is a driver’s license sufficient?

We’re going to Nassau next April and Nassau is on the list of participating airports so this should work well.

Thanks

I had my driver's license and some type of monthly statement. I had also printed out a copy of the completed application, although I'm not sure it was necessary, but the agent did take it and look at it. He asked one question about where I had travelled in the past year and that was it. Probably took 3 minutes.

I used this method at Dulles just before going out the Customs area. I had a few documents but didn't need them all. I think that I used my passport and Drivers License. It took about 10-15 minutes in which they took picture and fingerprints (I think).

Has anyone just show up at the CBP office at the airport and see if you can get an interview on the spot? I remember after I did my initial interview I was talking to a guy outside the office and said he was going to try and do a walk in. I should have stuck around to see how that went for him..

Back when I got Global Entry I made the appointment on the day I had a flight out of the Albuquerque airport. I don't remember having to show them much, probably just my identification, which I use my passport for. They did a digital fingerprint and they took my picture. They basically just wanted me to verify that everything I put on the application was true. After I was done I went through Security. Within an hour I got an email that I had been approved. I was able to use my KTN for my return flight.

This may depend on the office. I actually had an appointment scheduled at Newark airport CBP office prior to an international flight. Unfortunately, we were taking an Amtrak train to the airport from the DC area and the train was delayed by about 1.5 hours. I missed the appointment time by 15-20 minutes. We showed up at the CBP office about an hour before closing and they were not even busy, but refused to take me because I had missed the appointment time. I asked if they could still do it since it was only a renewal, but they refused.

In any event, I was able to take care of it upon our return, as I described above.

DP: We just all had to renew GE. DD and myself didn't need interview, DH did. As you noted, availability for in person appointments were close to none - only 3 locations in the US had a couple. For renewal (not sure about initial) virtual appt was available and also none. It was suggested that I keep checking, which I did every now and then and then on a random Tuesday I looked and there were a ton of virtual appts for the upcoming 2 weeks. Not sure if that is when they load appt, but it was a Tuesday around 1pm est.
